The virus that causes covid-19 is in a family of viruses called coronaviridae. Covid-19 is an acute respiratory illness caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV 2). It may be characterized by fever, cough, shortness of breath, and various other symptoms. Asymptomatic infection is also possible. The risk of severe disease increases with age but is in no way limited to the elderly. Many other variants of concern have emerged, making Covid-19 an ongoing and evolving concern. Covid-19 mainly spreads from person to person, but it can also be left on objects and surfaces.

Kidz Kare strongly believes that vaccines are a safe, effective tool in the fight to eliminate/control the spread of Covid-19. We encourage all eligible employees to receive their vaccine in accordance with the Ministry of Health and all local Public Health Offices.

Individuals not fully vaccinated, and subject to Kidz Kare’s Immunization Disclosure Policy, are required to regularly complete a Rapid Antigen Test for Covid-19.

Kidz Kare is required to report statistical information to the Ministry of Education under section 77 of O. Reg 137/15 made under the Childcare and Early Years Act 2014. No identifying information will be provided to the Ministry and all statistical information will be provided in the aggregate.
